Prayers for Other Faiths

A  Lutheran Prayer for Peace

O God, from whom come all holy desires, all good counsels, and all just works, give to me, Your servant, that peace which the world cannot give, that my heart may be set to obey Your commandments and also that I, being defended from the fear of my enemies, may live in peace and quietness; through Jesus Christ, my Lord. Amen

Martin Luther’s Evening Prayer

I thank You, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, Your dear Son, that You have graciously kept me this day; and I pray that You would forgive me all my sins where I have done wrong, and graciously keep me this night. For into Your hands I commend myself, my body and soul, and all things. Let Your holy angel be with me, that the evil foe may have no power over me. Amen

Episcopalian Prayer for the Grieving

Father,

you know our hearts and share our sorrows.

We are hurt by our parting from those whom we loved:

when we are angry at the loss we have sustained,

when we long for words of comfort,

yet find them hard to he,

turn our grief to truer living,

our affliction to firmer hope

in Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Methodist Prayer for our Enemies

O God, the Father of all, whose Son commanded us to love our enemies: Lead them and us from prejudice to truth: deliver them and us from hatred, cruelty, and revenge; and in your good time enable us all to stand reconciled before you, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Baptist Prayer for Your Perfect Will

Dear Lord, I ask that You take this pain away from my body. Allow me to feel better so that I can be active, work, and do the activities that I normally do. Help me to find the right doctors that will follow Your guidance. Lord, if there is medicine to be given, show the doctors which one to choose. Please let everything follow Your perfect will. In Your name, I pray. Amen.
